According to the IDB Invest, the proposed transaction with Operadora y Procesadora de Productos Marinos OMARSA S.A. ("Omarsa" or the "Company"), one of Ecuador's largest shrimp exporters, consists of a secured senior loan of up to US$50 million, with a term of up to 10 years and including a one-year grace period.
The funds will support the Company's investment plan in its shrimp operations, primarily in: (i) acquisition of equipment and infrastructure improvements at farms to increase productivity and sustainability; (ii) expansion of its packing plants and purchase of equipment; and (iii) upgrades to infrastructure and equipment in its laboratories.
The Project will contribute to: (i) increasing Ecuador's shrimp exports by Omarsa; (ii) improving farm productivity and sustainability through investments in equipment and infrastructure; and (iii) generating employment, among other positive impacts.
