As stated by the EBRD, Ukraine is a country rich in mineral resources and is reportedly home to more than 20,000 deposits of many different types of minerals, including significant deposits of Critical Raw Materials (CRM) - essential inputs for electrification and digitisation.
Against that backdrop, the Government of Ukraine is keen to attract investment into exploration and production of minerals. Crucial to the attraction of such investment is the development of modern systems to digitally capture, store, process and make accessible the geological data ('Geodata') that provides important information on mineral deposits.
For exploration and mining companies, such data represents an extremely valuable source of information for the discovery of new deposits and the assessment of resources and reserves. Its availability often helps to significantly reduce investment risk by better enabling targeting of investment to viable deposits, thereby saving vast unnecessary exploration expenditures.
With the above in mind, the EBRD and the Government have agreed to cooperate on digitising and increasing the availability of, and accessibility to, a Ukraine's existing archive of geodata. To that end the EBRD, working with The State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources of Ukraine ('UGS'), will launch a project to help achieve that objective.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF EBRD
The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project. Additionally, the PCM has the authority to recommend a project be suspended in the event that harm is imminent.
You can contact the PCM at: pcm@ebrd.com or you can submit a complaint online using an online form at: http://www.ebrd.com/eform/pcm/complaint_form?language=en
You can learn more about the PCM and how to file a complaint at: http://www.ebrd.com/work-with-us/project-finance/project-complaint-mechanism.html
