According to the IDB Invest, the proposed transaction consists of a corporate loan to the Borrower for up to US$15.0 million to (i) support its working capital requirements for an amount of up to US$5.0 million and (ii) fund its capital expenditures program for up to US$10 million consisting, among others, of (a) the implementation of smart grid solutions, (b) modernization of its Public Street Light infrastructure, (c) enhancement of existing substations, and (d) financing of other distribution and transmission equipment and spare parts required to support its existing operations (the "Project"). Thanks to the implementation of the Project, the Borrower will upgrade its transmission and distribution infrastructure, reduce energy losses, and improve its services for end users.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IDB / IDB INVEST
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest)-funded project. If you submit a complaint to MICI, they may assist you in addressing the problems you raised through a dispute-resolution process with those implementing the project and/or through an investigation to assess whether the IDB or IDB Invest is following its own policies for preventing or mitigating harm to people or the environment.
