Project Description

The proposed operation consists of financing for Companhia de Saneamento Basico do Estado de Sao Paulo SA ("Sabesp"), in order to support it in the installation of: (i) five Water Quality Recovery Units in Informal Areas (" URQs ") in the Pinheiros River basin, being: URQ Jaguaré, URQ Antônio, URQ Pirajussara, URQ Água Espraiada and URQ Cachoeira; and (ii) thirty-one photovoltaic mini-generator plants ("UFVs"), with powers below 5 MWp and a total of 59 MW of installed power, to be implemented in Sabesp's operational areas in the State of São Paulo, contributing to the expansion of production of renewable energy and diversification of the company's energy matrix (the "Project").

Esta operacao foi pre-classificada na categoria B, em conformidade com a Politica de Sustentabilidade Ambiental e Social (PSAS) do BID Invest, pois apresenta riscos e impactos de baixa a media intensidade, os quais podem ser mitigados por meio de medidas disponiveis e de implementacao viavel no contexto da operacao proposta.

Durante o processo de Devida Diligencia Ambiental e Social (DDAS), o BID Invest e o Consultor Independente avaliarao, principalmente, os seguintes pontos: i) arranjo de gestao e compartilhamento de responsabilidades entre o Cliente e as empresas subcontratadas para o gerenciamento dos aspectos ambientais, sociais e de saude e seguranca ocupacional em atendimento aos requisitos legais brasileiros, assim como aos requisitos da PSAS; ii) planos e programas para o gerenciamento de aspectos e impactos ambientais e sociais associados a etapa de obras e de operacao das URQs e UFVs, incluindo o gerenciamento de produtos perigosos, residuos solidos, controle de ruido e de odores gerados no tratamento das URQs; e iii) gestao estruturada pelo Cliente e empresas subcontratadas das atividades de engajamento e relacionamento com as comunidades vizinhas as URQs. A empresa devera garantir que o Projeto atenda aos requisitos da Politica de Sustentabilidade do BID Invest e elimine eventuais lacunas por meio de um plano de acao socioambiental.

Na base das informacoes recebidas e revisadas ate o momento, os Padroes de Desempenho (PDs) aplicaveis ao Projecto sao: PD1: Avaliacao e Gestao de Riscos e Impactos Socioambientais; PD2: Condicoes de Emprego e Trabalho; PD3: Eficiencia de Recursos e Prevencao da Poluicao; e PD4: Saude e Seguranca da Comunidade..

Apos a conclusao do processo DDAS, um Resumo da Revisao Ambiental e Social (RRAS ou ESRS) sera preparado e publicado neste site.
