Project Description

According to the bank, "the loan proposed for Fundacion Empresarial Genesis ("Genesis") is direct at the support of its productive microfinance portfolio in Guatemala. Fundacion Genesis Empresarial is the largest microfinance institution in Guatemala. The term of the IDB Invest loan is expected to be five years. This loan will be complemented by a Technical Assistance from IDB Invest, aligning Genesis' portfolio with the Sustainable Development Goals ("SDG"), improve funding capacities for sustainable finances, as well as establish a portfolio of microloans in climate change resilient agricultural productive chains."
